International Shipping has advanced, and technology plays a key role in following shipments around the world. To support this, tracking systems across companies and countries update the various stages a shipment goes through enroute to the final destination.
FlavorCloud's tracking page supports both Standard & Express shipments. In Standard Shipments, the parcel may pass through multiple carriers as it traverses across the First Mile (warehouse to the consolidation facility), Global Mile (from the consolidation facility to the destination country), and Final Mile (the final travel to the end destination).
Key to note is that early alerts or prep alerts are often misunderstood to be indicators of parcels in stages that they are not. For example, an electronic notice to a carrier letting them know to expect a package does not indicate it has left the warehouse. This article will walk through the typical journey and corresponding alerts of a Standard shipment and an Express shipment.
